Friends, It is with extreme sorrow that we share the news of the passing of

Dave Chaltas’s cousin and dear friend. She submitted so many pictures for the Civil War Courier and always without thought of reward. From The Old General”

“Today I learned of the passing of my dear friend, Wanda Whitehead. She and her husband were hit head on a couple weeks ago. Wanda fought like a warrior to cling to life, but there at the last, she was called home. I called her my friend, but she was much more. She was the ‘life of the party’ and had an infectious laugh. She loved life and gave so much to so many.

“She married Ken Whitehead, her best friend and they had children who followed their footsteps in serving and helping others. Wanda had a passion for life that was infectious. She was a motivator, community leader and most of all, a strong Christian woman. She adored photography. She contributed several pictures that were used in the Civil War Courier, Camp Chase Gazette, websites, books and other periodicals.

“She gave freely without thought of reward. She was a blessing to so many and as I reflect upon her, I realize she was an angel unaware.

“Thank you Wanda for the many years of friendship and for your legacy that will continue. We are better for having her in our lives. Rest well as you walk with the angels,”
